Yk you can do better than whatever that is
field notes from a girl (you!) who's finally done playing with her own potential
There’s Only One Hailey Bieber, Lori Harvey, Melissa’s Wardrobe, Alexandra Saint Mleux, Lisa, the list goes on…AND there’s only one Y/N
If you’re in competition, you’re competing to prove something. To get something that proves you’re that something. But here’s the thing, you can only ever really be in competition with yourself.
When you’re competing with others, you’re not actually trying to win. You’re afraid. Afraid of your own potential. So you want to borrow someone else’s. Steal someone else’s. Because they already proved it’s possible.
Think about it. The person you’re watching, measuring yourself against, comparing your timeline to—they’re not your competition. They’re your confirmation. Proof that what you want is real. That it can happen. But the way it happens for you? That’s yours to figure out.
And the only way to figure it out is to stop looking sideways and start looking inward.
The race you think you’re running doesn’t exist. There’s just you, becoming more of who you already are. And the only person who can slow that down is the one still trying to be someone else.
Just be you fr, if you lose your voice, we lose the recipes it comes with and it’ll be like,
you
never
existed.
What a waste!

How to Get Snatched Overnight
sometimes you just need to remember who you are and this routine does that
Your lymphatic system is how your body clears out waste and extra fluid. But it doesn’t have a pump. It needs you to move things along.
A lymphatic massage is really gentle. You’re not pressing hard. You’re using soft strokes to push fluid toward the lymph nodes in your jaw and neck. Start from the middle of your face. Move outward. Then sweep down your neck toward your collarbone.
Do this for five to ten minutes. Use a little oil so your fingers slide easy.
I’m telling you. Your face will feel lighter right away. And by morning? You’ll see it.
Gua sha’s and ice rollers are the same idea but with a tool, honorable mention for the trusty NuFace. Anyway, with the gua sha the stone stays cool. It gives you more control along your bones. You’re moving fluid away from where it’s stuck. You’re also bringing blood flow to the surface.
Use it after you wash your face. Put on an oil or serum first so the stone glides. Move in upward strokes. Along your jaw. Across your cheeks. Across your forehead. Down your neck. The pressure should feel firm but not painful. You’re working with your skin. Not fighting it.
Five minutes is enough. Your face might look a little tender after but that’s just the process. Make sure you hydrate your skin right before bed more than necessary and longer. I might do my skin care routine and lather my face in castor oil 5 hours before bed then wash it off and reapply the skin care right before bed after my skin has benefitted from the castor oil.
This one works from the inside. Bitter teas like dandelion or green tea help your liver and kidneys process fluid. They help your body let go of what it’s holding. And drink your water. I know it sounds backwards. But when you’re hydrated, your body stops hoarding water. Dehydration causes bloating. Hydration releases it.
Cheers to winter!
