FROM LOVE ITSELF FRIDAYSSSS welcomes you to this glorious beautiful March 13th morning.

not to be dramatic but this came out 16 years ago

You know what else came out 16 years ago? Well close to 16 years ago?

Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when published

“I am not the kind of girl
Who should be rudely barging in on a white veil occasion
But you are not the kind of boy
Who should be marrying the wrong girl

I sneak in and see your friends
And her snotty little family all dressed in pastel
And she is yelling at a bridesmaid
Somewhere back inside a room
Wearing a gown shaped like a pastry”

She wasn’t right for that lowkey, which got me thinking, what else were we so sure of when we were effervescent and wide eyed and innocent and eager for life to put its mark on us? Not knowing that the correct order was the other way around?

It’s so easy for me to slip into my writer voice!

Switching back to my chit chatting voice, anyway,

maybe this weekend you can give yourself a second to look in the mirror today and remember what occupied your mind before you cared about anything outside of yourself and what brought you joy, but most importantly peace.

You’ll probably have more fun than you remember having in a long time.

The “Pretty” Paradox: Why we get used to everything (even ourselves)

Today’s Prayer
Lord Jesus every gate in my life I subject it to your will
Every gate in my life I command it to bow to your will
The gate of my mind submit yourself to JKessu
The gate of my soul submit yourself to Jesus
The gate of my spirit submit yourself to Jesus
The gate of my body submit yourself to Jesus
Therefore no other gates will be able to infiltrate me because my gates are dedicated to Jesus
Thereofor eletthe wars oat the gates let them move in my favor because Jesus is at my gate
In Jesus name I’ve declared amen

This is incredibly niche, but you know when a guy is so attractive you’re like, “Wow, there is a God in heaven and He truly sculpts”? You’re looking at the muscular structure, the way he moves—chef’s kiss.

No lie he looks like the first crush I ever had in my human experience 1st grade it was, his name was Blake and the future was bright. 💔

@pellelarssonsonlyfan So niche that his girlfriend has more followers than him… #basketball #miamiheat #pellelarsson #niche #nba

Biblically Rich Girl Ep. 3

You're out here preparing someone else's wedding. Someone else is starting the business God told YOU to start and you're watching from the outside in. The gospel is sales — you show people where they're missing a fuller expression of life. But you can't do that without confidence in who God made you to be. Don't despise the day of small beginnings. BUT THEN YOU GET USED TO HIM??

Suddenly, you just know what he looks like. The shock wears off. It’s the same thing with being pretty. You know what you look like because you’re you, but the world doesn’t see you every day in the mirror.

Your gifts are the same way. YOU are the same way.

Whatever you think is “regular” or “same old, same old” in terms of how you look, is someone else’s first look at a baddie in real life.

Do you get me? I’m trying to help you understand that how you perceive something depends entirely on how long you’ve been looking at it. That’s how a beige flag (or a red one!) starts looking green after a while.

The whole point of all of this, is your eyes, your perspective, etc. it shifts, it changes. Just like the beauty standard, just like anything observable by the physical eye.

So, Zozo, what do we DO? How do we measure things if there’s no absolute standard of truth? If we’re just out here like Nixon (that was a gold standard joke)?

I’ll tell you what to do: Go find out what God says about it. God didn’t say her looks are far above rubies; He said her value is. That means her value isn’t fixed, it multiplies.

He told husbands to love their wives, not just look at them. Your standard isn’t his face; it’s his love. That love should be just as deep on Day 1 as it is on Day 30,000. It doesn’t change; it only gets deeper. If the quantity of respect starts low, it stays low…if the opposite, well.

I hope this helps, because I hate to see a girl lose her sparkle, and it always starts with a disrespected standard.

(None of this is about dating, or love, or relationships,

yet alllll of it is about dating or love or relationships)
