Let's talk about something real quick. It's February now, and a lot of us are finally getting into our actual winter arc. Like, we had that winter arc promo reel happen around November, but then the holidays came and we couldn't actually be in our winter arc because... holiday food.
But now? Now people are properly in their winter arc. Everyone's focused on being their best self, getting into routine, getting on with their goals for the year, and gaining momentum.
Here's something I've learned about getting into routine - at least for me specifically? It's a process. It takes me about 2 weeks to get into like, a consistent routine. One that I want to be in. I can't just jumpstart myself into it.
Let's Talk About Habit Stacking
I call it habit stacking (some people call it other things, but this is what I call it). Basically, I have to do the same things every single day, in the same order. And these blocks of the stack? They're pieces that will feed into helping me get to my actual final goal - end of quarter, end of half, end of year.
This morning? I woke up a little later than usual. But I still did everything in the habit stack. The time was adjusted, but I was like, you know what? I'm not gonna be hard on myself.
Here's Why
It is better for me to consistently do everything in the habit stack than it is to do everything perfectly. Like, doing it perfectly is an added benefit, but it's more important that I do everything in the stack and continue to do everything in the stack.
Because at the end of the day, that's what's going to actually achieve what I want to achieve. Not the fact that I'm doing it perfectly. The perfect timing just feeds my ego. Makes me feel good. But the consistency? That's what actually achieves what I want to see.
So consistency over perfection. Always.
Remember: Your winter arc isn't about perfection. It's about showing up for yourself, even when the timing isn't perfect.
