Start eating an aggressive amount of carrots, sweet potatoes, and tomatoes

Start adding these to the meals you already enjoy. Think roasted sweet potatoes with dinner, tomatoes in your salad, or carrots with your favorite dip.

The beauty connection comes from carotenoids, the pigments that give these vegetables their red, orange, and yellow colors. Those pigments can accumulate in your skin and subtly influence its color over time. In a small six-week study, increased fruit and vegetable intake was associated with measurable changes in skin coloring. The participants were predominantly white, so the findings don’t establish the same visible effect across everyy skin tone.

You don’t need to build your diet around carrots. Make these foods a regular part of a varied diet, prepared in ways you actually look forward to eating.

Get into drinkable skincare, like konjac jelly

Doesn’t need much explanation to be honest just drink it and your skin will glow trust me. My preferred brand.

the WOW method

The movement is simple: slowly mouth the word “wow.” Bring your lips together for the W, round your mouth into an O, then return to the W. Keep the movement comfortable rather than stretching your mouth as wide as possible, and stop if it causes pain.

This literally removes the tension in your jaw which is amazing.

Lip skin care

If you’re not chemically exfoliating your lips, I don’t know what you’re doing. Make sure you choose a light exfoliant and a balm with SPF 30+!

Turns out drinking water makes a diff.

A daily target of around two liters can give the habit some structure, rather than leaving it at “I should drink more water.” Make it practical. Fill your bottle in the morning, keep it within reach, and drink regularly throughout the day.

Cut out processed sugars

This is the single habit that can single handedly change your life. Literally.

The easiest way to mentally conquer this is to restrict yourself to the foods Adam and Eve had access to and keep it pushing from there.

The subtle art of changing by choice

you’re always a few (sustained) decisions away from a brand new life <3

The Ultimate Guide to Your Very Own Self Centered Summer

You need to be doing everything in your power to become as attractive as possible.

Your formal invitation to self-obsessed summer

Return of the Mack. The most beautiful you you’ve ever known.

It’s my favorite time of year. Life starts in May, I always say that, and this May is no different.

Today we’re talking about the law of DETACHMENNTTTT BABY. Detachment. Because everything you want is on the other side of detachment, everything you are is on the other side of detachment, and wherever Jesus is, that’s where you’re ideally meant to be. He is the KING of as the Father has spoken, so it is. So here we are.

I saw this tiktok the other day and the girl said the above

Being emotionally unavailable is fun, I see why men do this.

Completelyyyyy self obsessed.

Now. I have to clear something up before we go any further because I know how this sounds. Self-obsessed summer is not man-centered. It’s not vanity. It’s not “I don’t care about anyone.” The core of it — the actual soil it grows out of — is gratitude.

Gratitude is the center. Gratitude is the center. Gratitude is the center.

Because here’s what happens. You start the year so aggressively. You’re praying, you’re planning, you’re building, you’re applying, you’re posting, you’re showing up. And by the time you get to summer you’re either like oh, I’m doing well or whatever, this is fine; but either way you’re still pouring all of your energy into outcomes and possibilities and what might happen and who might show up. And that’s the part we’re putting down.

Self-obsessed summer is when you stop pouring energy into the around.

You pour it into the you. Because you are already full. God has already done it, is doing it, will do it, and a lot of it is actually already complete. You just haven’t noticed because you’ve been watching the door.

Life is not in the building. Life is in the experiencing of building.

So. Here’s how you’re going to have a self-obsessed summer.

1. The list

Not a bucket list. A self-centered summer list.

Sit down and ask yourself: if this were my only summer on earth — ever — what would I do? Write 100 things. One hundred. The point is not to do every single one verbatim. The point is to open up your mind to the possibilities, because most of us are walking around with a summer plan that has like nine things on it and we wonder why we feel small.

2. A weekly side quest

You need one. Every week. Non-negotiable.

You are a plant. Plants need ground, water, food, love, attention. You need a side quest the same way. Something on the calendar every week that is purely for the experiencing of it. Not productive. Not strategic. Just yours.

3. Intentional plans on three sides

With your friends. With yourself. With Jesus.

For the extroverts the friends part is easy and the yourself part is where you’ll be tested. For the introverts it’s the opposite. But the one that gets skipped no matter who you are is Jesus. And I don’t mean your regular routine; your morning prayer, your scripture in the car. I mean intentionally taking time away. Like you would for a person you’re falling in love with. Because you are.

4. One fun item

A signature. One thing this summer that is so you it becomes a tell.

For me it’s red flip-flops. Red shoes in general. I want to be in obscene flip-flops that are low-key ridiculous, with the best outfits. That’s my thing this summer. Find yours. It can be small. It just has to be specifically, intentionally, on purpose yours.

5. A skill

Carve out the time and learn something girl.

Pottery. Line dancing. The dance class. The thing you keep saying you’ll get to. You can’t let your life be in the hands of other people’s lives. That’s the whole point of this.

6. A new restaurant. A new country’s food. A new order.

Try food from a country you’ve never tried. And when you get there do not order what you usually order. This is a small thing that does a big thing to your brain. You stop being a person who has a usual. You become a person who is finding out.

7. Your version of exposure therapy

If you’re shy about posting; post. At least once a day.

If you’re nervous about talking to new people, talk to someone in line. Often.

Whatever the version of “I’d love to but I can’t” is for you, that’s the assignment.

Self-obsessed summer doesn’t let you sit in a corner and be precious about it. You’re being obsessed with being, which means you have to keep meeting the next version of you, and she’s usually one uncomfortable conversation away.

And remember — it’s hot outside. It’s self-obsessed summer. (Southern hemisphere girlies, my apologies fr)

The idea here, and I could go on and on, is that you deserve to do things from you. To experience life from yourself. That is where you create. That is where you find the how of the life of your dreams.

With God. Through God. From Him.

Because that really is the only way to live from love itself at the end of the day.

The Met Gala raised a record $42 million on Monday, which is great for the Costume Institute and not great for the carpet. The theme was “Fashion is Art.” The dress code was also “Fashion is Art.” Very circular.

Best dressed, if you’re asking moi: Emma Chamberlain in Mugler, Venus Williams in Swarovski, Paloma Elsesser in Bureau of Imagination, Yseult in Harris Reed.

Best glam: Anok Yai, Hunter Schafer, Jennie, Sabrina Carpenter, Laufey. Honestly, people are saving their real looks for Cannes at this point. The Costume Art exhibit opens May 10 at the Met. Iris Van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses opens at the Brooklyn Museum on May 16 with 140 couture pieces. Battle of the fashion exhibits is the real event.

5 Voice Shifts That Make You More Magnetic

People feel your voice before they hear what you’re actually saying

This is lowkey just how listening works. Tone, pace, warmth, the amount of tension behind the sound, all of it lands before the words do. So by the time someone has registered what you said, they’ve already decided how it felt to be near you while you said it.

That’s what I mean by a magnetic voice. Not loud. Not polished. Not radio-ready. Just relaxed and connected to your body, the kind of voice people lean toward instead of bracing against.

Five shifts that help.

1. Listen to the voice other people actually hear.

The voice in your head isn’t the voice anyone else is hearing. You hear yours through bone, vibrations rattling around your skull. Everyone else hears it through air. That gap is why the first time you hear yourself on a recording you flinch.

Stop flinching. Get curious instead. Your recorded voice is the only honest data you have about how you actually sound to other people, your pace, your warmth, where you carry tension, whether you trail off at the end of sentences. Magnetic women aren’t afraid to know how they’re being received. Tbh who cares but when your hobby is living, you get interested in every aspect of it.

2. Let your voice relax before you speak.

A magnetic voice starts relaxed. I don’t mean lazy or mumbly. I mean unclenched.

Your body’s tension shows up in your voice almost immediately, listeners can hear all of it, even if they couldn’t name what they’re hearing. Before anything that matters (a meeting, a video, a voice note, a conversation you care about), take one slow breath. Drop your shoulders. Unclench your jaw. Start from ease, not pressure.

3. Speak from your body, not just your head.

A thin voice gets stuck up high, in the throat, behind the teeth, somewhere in your nose. A fuller voice has more of you behind it. It moves through your chest, your ribs, your belly. That’s resonance.

You don’t need to drop into some fake low register. You just need to let the sound travel through more of you. A long sigh before you speak helps. So does humming for ten seconds. So does noticing where your voice currently lives and letting it sit a little lower.

4. Make people feel safe to listen.

The voices I find most magnetic aren’t selling me anything. They’re not rushing me, correcting me, or working too hard to impress me. They’re just present. They give me room.

This matters everywhere — content, leadership, teaching, dating, friendship, business, the way you say goodnight to someone. People forget your exact words almost immediately. They remember how it felt to be in your presence. Your voice is doing more of the communication work than you think.

5. Sigh before you speak.

The simplest exercise, and the one I keep coming back to. Sigh first.

Try it before recording. Try it before answering a call. Try it before sending a voice note. Try it the second you notice your shoulders climbing toward your ears. A sigh resets your nervous system, drops your voice into your body, and gives you a softer place to start from.

Your voice doesn’t need to become someone else’s. It just needs more access to you. That’s the whole shift, not performing harder, just showing up more relaxed and more present in the voice you already have.

MY FOREVER HOLY GRAILS

These are the products I will defend with my life. Not spons just things I literally cannot live without. If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you’ve probably seen most of these pop up. So here’s the official rundown of why each one has a permanent spot in my routine.

Essence Lash Princess Mascara

I’ve been using this mascara since college. My best friend put me on and I haven’t stopped since. It makes my lashes long, not cakey, and it doesn’t irritate my eyez.

EADEM Le Chouchou Lip Softening Balm

Okay honestly, before this I was a Summer Fridays girly. An Ole Henriksen girl through and through. But EADEM’s lip balm?? PerFUH. Perfect perfect perfect.

The 7 Virtues Coconut Sun Eau de Parfum

This is Hawaii in a bottle. I love to smell like I just got back from being in the water and in the sun and in the sand. And the thing is, it’s not that sunscreeny fake coconut smell. It’s more like if Jo Malone did a coconut but made it less screechy. Been obsessed.

Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder

This balm gives that look where you catch yourself in the mirror like hours later and go “oh my gosh, I look like a filter.” No brainer.

OUAI St. Barts Hair & Body Mist

Again with the smelling like an island I know, I know. But this one is so good. It’s great for my hair, great for my body, and it just makes me feel cozy and warm and like I have my life together.

Cuccio Naturale Milk & Honey Butter

This one is newish to me. I had it in a massage and it was amazing. Like, genuinely amazing. It smells so soft and gentle — a very nice, warm honey. If you remember Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar, it’s basically that vibe, but less sugary and way more subtle, soft, and mature. I have no idea why this is nowhere to be found online but if you can get your hands on it, do it.

L’Oréal Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Bronzing Enhancer

I put this under all of my makeup. I blend it with my liquid blush. Basically, when I want to look like a disco ball or like I’ve been sitting in the sun all day, this is what I reach for. It gives you that lit-from-within glow without being glittery or doing too much.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum

This is just standard. Needed-as-much-as-I-need-water standard. Can’t survive without it, you know what I mean?

THE NEW CREATION DECLARATION
2 Corinthians 5:17

If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!

Thank You, Jesus, that I am a new creation in Christ. Thank You that the old is gone, the new is here. I put on my new identity in Christ in the name of Jesus.

I make my body, my flesh, and my soul subject to who I am in the Spirit. I make it subject to who I am in my new nature.

The light of life lives inside of me.
The light of life lives inside of my atoms at a molecular level.
The Holy Spirit radiates out of me.

In Jesus’ name, I am a new creation.

⋆

I put off the old identity.
I put off the old self in which I’ve been programmed to believe that I am all my life.
I put it off and I put on the new self.
I put on the righteousness of God.

⋆

All memories, all traumas, and all sin cycles stop when I declare that I’m a new creation.
All sin cycles stop when I put on my new identity.
All sin cycles stop when I put on the robes of righteousness.
All sin cycles stop when I put on the helmet of salvation and the crown in which I rule from because I am seated in heavenly places.

I walk in power and authority in the name of Jesus.
I walk as a new creature.
It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.
In the Spirit, I am seated in heavenly places right now.

⋆

I am a co-heir in Christ. Everything in the Father’s house I have access to.

I have access to healing, and I declare healing over my body.
I have access to provision and finances, so I declare finances and provision to do the will of the Father.
I have access to health and wholeness in my body, so I declare health and wholeness over my entire being.
I have access to divine knowledge, so I declare divine knowledge over my mind — knowledge over people’s situations, supernatural insight as to strongholds that are trying to come over my life and trying to create confusion.

I have that divine insight, intel, and discernment that comes from Holy Spirit because I am seated in heavenly places.

⋆

I am a royal priesthood.
That means I have authority in the name of Jesus. I’m not just saved, but I have authoritative divine power in the realm of the Spirit to make things on earth as it is in heaven.

Even though my default programming has been to rely on my emotions, my circumstances, how I feel, my lack, my health, anxiety, demonic attacks, people leaving, and opportunities not working, I no longer identify with those things because I am a royal priesthood, a co-heir with Christ, and a new creation.

⋆

Therefore, my life on earth looks drastically different than it used to look.

In the name of Jesus, I put off my mind and I put on the mind of Christ.
We have the mind of Christ.

I declare right now that I no longer struggle to hear from God, because the mind of Christ does not struggle to hear from the Lord.

I do not struggle with prophetic knowledge, because the mind of Christ does not struggle with prophetic knowledge.

⋆

So I put off my carnal mind, I separate it from my body, and I put on the righteous, glorious, pure mind of Christ.

When the Father looks at me, He sees purity.
When the Father looks at me, He sees His Son.

So right now, in the name of Jesus, I put on the mind of Christ.

I declare I can hear Holy Spirit.
I can hear the voice of the Father.
I can hear the voice of Jesus.
I can understand their personalities.
I can understand their unique identities.

⋆

Because it’s no longer my thoughts that are popping up, it is God’s thoughts and God’s voice that is speaking into my mind, not my own thoughts.

I am a new creation, and I declare that I will walk in that power and authority today.

We take dominion and power over every principality suffocating our minds and our hearts, tormenting us with memory of past sin, past trauma, and past cycles.

We take hold of that in the Spirit and submit it to the feet of Jesus and declare freedom and deliverance in Jesus’ name.

⋆

I tear down any carnal intellectual arguments about who we are in Christ in the Spirit.
I tear down the structures of intellectualism by walking in power and authority.

And though life is uncertain, I walk in a certainty that Jesus died and rose again, and His blood is completely washing over my being every minute of today.

⋆

I submit my emotions, how I feel, the cloud of doubt, and the fog of fear at the feet of Jesus, and I choose right now to no longer live from that paradigm.

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I command my body and my soul to awaken to my new nature and to walk in that power and authority for the rest of the day.

⋆

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

☆ START A LIST CALLED THINGS THAT MAKE ME ATTRACTIVE

☆ PRAYER

Everything comes down to self-concept.

What do you believe about yourself? What do you believe about your life? And more importantly, what do you believe about yourself in relation to what God said?

In this video, we’re talking about biblical abundance, mindset, faith, imagination, and how to stop living from old programming. If God gave you a word, your job is not to panic, shrink, or stay double-minded. Your job is to believe, meditate on what He said, and become the kind of person who can actually carry the life He showed you.

WATCH HERE

Start a List Called “Things That Make Me Attractive”

You need to be doing everything in your power to become as attractive as possible.

And no, I don’t just mean physically. I mean your whole life. Your presence. Your energy. Your habits. Your confidence. The way you walk into a room. The way you speak to people. The way you carry what God gave you instead of apologizing for it.

But let’s start somewhere simple.

Start a list in your notes app and title it: Things That Make Me Attractive.

First, write down the physical things you actually like about yourself. Your eyes. Your smile. Your hair. Your skin. Your shape. Your hands. Your legs. Your voice. Anything.

Add the things people compliment you on often too, because sometimes people see what we keep ignoring.

Maybe people always tell you that you have a beautiful smile. Maybe they love your hair. Maybe your outfits always get compliments. Maybe your laugh makes people feel comfortable. Write it down.

Then move to the deeper things.

What makes your personality attractive?

Are you thoughtful? Funny? Warm? Interesting? Disciplined? Soft? Wise? Creative? Loyal? Honest? Do people feel safe around you? Do people come to you for advice? Do you make things feel lighter? Do you have a way of making people feel seen?

Write that down too.

Because becoming attractive is not about becoming someone else. It is about finally paying attention to what is already working.

Then, once you know what makes you attractive, start accentuating it.

If people compliment your hair, take care of your hair. Learn what styles make you feel beautiful. If people compliment your smile, smile more. Find your lip combo. Take care of your teeth. If people compliment your legs, wear the outfit that lets them shine. If people compliment your warmth, stop trying to act cold and unavailable. Let that softness be part of your beauty.

And yes, some people will call this shallow.

Let them.

There’s nothing shallow about stewarding what God gave you.

When you look good, you feel different. When you feel different, you move different. When you move different, people respond to you differently. And when people respond to you with more warmth, you often have more warmth to give back.

The outside isn’t everything, but it is still part of your life. Your body is part of your life. Your style is part of your life. Your presence is part of your life.

So start thereeee.

Habits from women with regulated nervous systems

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

1. They don’t respond to everything immediately. A text, a conflict, an email. It just sits there. Their first reaction is almost never their clearest one and they’ve stopped pretending it is.

2. They have one “no” they won’t bend on. I don’t mean they’re generally boundaried people. I mean there’s one specific thing and it is not up for discussion. That saves them from having to figure out where the line is every single time.

3. They name the anxiety out loud. “I’m spiraling.” Just hearing yourself say it puts a little space between you and the feeling. Enough space to stop becoming it.

4. They don’t pre-live hard conversations. No script, no imagined worst case. They show up and deal with what actually happens. This one is brutal for me personally.

5. Their mornings are theirs. No news, no group chat chaos, no notifications. Not until they’re ready.

6. They move slowly on purpose somewhere in their day. Eating. Walking. Getting ready. Not because they have the time. Because that’s how they stay in their body.

7. They know what actually calms them down and it’s not wine. It’s a specific thing. A walk. Cold water on the face. A playlist they’ve had for three years. They figured it out through trial and error, not from an infographic.

8. Sadness is allowed to just be sadness. They don’t treat every uncomfortable feeling like something broke. Some discomfort needs attention. Most of it just needs to pass.

9. They protect their sleep like it’s money. Hour before bed is theirs. No heavy conversations, no doomscrolling, no starting a show they can’t stop.

⋆

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

I don’t know that’s just like so simple but the basis of everything that’s happening this season. Can’t you feel it? I know you do.

☆ Sephora is under Italian investigation, prenups, Art Basel Hong Kong

☆ How to Dress Like a 2000s Yoga Mom

☆ Daily Prayer (at the bottom !)

What We’re Noticing

• Italy opened an investigation into Sephora and Benefit over marketing adult skincare to children. Regulators said very young micro-influencers were being used to push serums and anti-aging products to minors, linking it to an unhealthy skincare obsession in girls.

• Prenups are being reframed as clarity, not doom. Reuters reported that a quarter of Gen Z surveyed said they had signed one, and 30% said they would consider it.

• Art Basel Hong Kong is still one of the main places where money, taste, and Asia’s collector class meet. This year’s fair ran March 27–29, featured 240 galleries, and keeps reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as a serious luxury-cultural capital.

10 Ways to Dress Like a 2000s Yoga Mom

1. Start with low-rise flared yoga pants.
This is the whole look. Not leggings. Not slick little performance sets. You want actual yoga pants with a bootcut or flare.

2. Look for a foldover waistband.
That one detail makes everything feel way more authentic. It gives the outfit that soft, early-2000s studio-to-errands energy.

3. Wear fitted tanks

   .
Built-in-bra tanks, racerbacks, and halter tops all work. The top should feel close to the body so the flare on the bottom still stands out.

4. Treat sports bras like part of the outfit.
In this aesthetic, a sports bra is not just underwear. It is fully allowed to be the look, especially with yoga pants, low-rise sweats, or little shorts.

5. Add short shorts.
Especially the foldover kind. They make the whole thing feel very “Pilates, smoothie, maybe a quick stop at the store.”

6. Keep a velour or terry cloth tracksuit around.
This is not necessarily for class itself. It is for arriving, leaving, and looking cute before and after.

1. Wear flip flops instead of overthinking the shoe.
The 2000s yoga mom was not trying to serve a technical sneaker moment. She was in a flip flop with a giant bag and a full life.

2. Use headbands and simple hair accessories.
Soft wide headbands, sparkly elastics, basic Goody hair ties. The hair should feel easy, feminine, and slightly undone.

3. Carry an actual athletic duffle bag.
Not a tiny minimalist shoulder bag. A real duffle. The kind that suggests you have a yoga mat, lip balm, flip flops, a water bottle, and five random essentials inside.

4. Keep the whole thing soft, sporty, and a little glam.
Think pink, white, pale green, heather gray, and Juicy-adjacent energy. The goal is not to look like a modern fitness influencer. The goal is to look like you have yoga at ten, errands at noon, and a very cute life.

Dating Green Flags, Iran Updatee, and Rhino Spotting

• a psychologist listed 5 green flags to look for when dating. the piece ran on CNBC. the top ones: they follow through on small promises, they handle disagreement without shutting down, and they have friendships that have lasted years. the psychologist said almost anyone can seem perfect in the first month. the green flags show up after that

  • say this: “a psychologist listed 5 green flags for dating. the best one: they follow through on small promises. anyone can seem great the first month. the flags that matter show up after that.”

  • say this: “the Strait of Hormuz deadline got pushed back again. one side says talks are productive. Iran says nobody’s talking. meanwhile the Philippines declared a national emergency just from the economic effects of this war.”

• scientists found a 23-million-year-old rhinoceros fossil in the Canadian Arctic. a nearly complete skeleton was pulled from lakebed rock on Devon Island in Nunavut. 1,000 km north of the Arctic Circle. the species was small, hornless, and built like a modern Indian rhino. “itjilik” means “frosty” in Inuktitut. the name was chosen with an Inuit elder. the fossil changes what we know about how rhinos crossed from Europe to North America

  • say this: “scientists just found a 23-million-year-old rhino fossil in the Canadian Arctic. it was hornless and lived 1,000 km north of the Arctic Circle. they named it ‘frosty’ in Inuktitut after consulting with an Inuit elder. rhinos lived in the Arctic.”

An African Girl’s Guide to a looksmaxxing and feelin’ good

After the Brazilian Girl’s guide,

we had to do African girls because the skin, the hair, the overall presence is mwah mwah mwah, not saying that just bc i am either

This is all based on this r/vindicta thread

If you grew up around African women, none of this is surprising. It’s just what’s normal.

Shea butter. It’s the baseline. Dry skin isn’t really a thing when you’re actually moisturizing properly. Shea butter, cocoa butter, oils, layered and done consistently. You don’t get out of the shower and skip it. It evens your skin tone too.

African black soap. Face and body. Simple, effective, and it works when you use it regularly. Pair that with a net sponge (or exfoliating gloves!) for heavy exfoliation and you’re exfoliating every shower without overdoing it.

Qasil and turmeric masks. East African girls especially swear by qasil for clear, even skin. Turmeric masks too. These aren’t trends, they’ve just always worked.

Oils for everything. Castor oil for hair growth, brows, lashes. Coconut oil, olive oil. Nothing should ever say dry for long.

Real food, less sugar, less ultra-processed stuff. It’s not even framed as a “beauty tip,” it’s just understood that what you eat shows up on your skin.

Sleep on time. Not everything is a hack. Some things are just discipline. Going to bed earlier consistently makes a visible difference. Sleep before 12 is worth more than sleep after 12. </3

Scent matters. Bukhoor, oil perfumes, layering scents. You don’t just look good, you smell good too.

Gold jewelry. I’m a gold girl filyfe.

Soft feet. Vaseline after a shower and socks overnight. A small thing, but a big difference over time.

More soooon … <3

A Brazilian Girl’s Guide to a Summer Glow Up if you start implementing now you’ll be golden (literally) by summer

By: Beatriz Costa

Hi everyone! Excited to be the first writer on From Love Itself!

I’m not Brazilian by nationality but, I love Bruna Marquezine and the Brazilian national soccer team so and all things beauty, so here’s what I’ve picked up.

Hibiscus tea. It’s amazing for your lymphatic system, which basically means less bloating and better skin. Also getting lymphatic drainage massages pretty regularly. If you can try one even once a month, do it.

Nails that are always done. Like our Russian sisters, cuticle removal has always been standard in Brazil, and Russian manicures have made it way more accessible everywhere else. Even without polish, clean cuticles make your hands look completely different.

Coconut water and real food. Coconuts are the best natural sources of electrolytes, it’s low glycemic, and it’s great for your skin. Pair that with how Brazilians actually eat, papaya, Brazil nuts, root vegetables like yuca, eggs, legumes, lots of cabbage, and you start to understand why people look the way they do there. It’s a whole-food thing. Nothing extreme.

Moving your body outside. The steps culture you’re seeing blow up right now has been normal in Brazil for years. Walking, beach volleyball, boxing, lifting. The difference is that women there usually do something outdoors on top of the gym. You’re getting exercise and sun at the same time, which is the cheat code.

Moisturizing like you mean it. They moisturize a lot, I mix coconut oil and rose oil after a shower while my skin is still damp, and when I’m consistent with it, the difference is obvious. At least four times a week. That’s the baseline. Also scrubbing your skin with exfoliating gloves and then without, but with a scrub twice a day girl!

None of this is complicated. Drink your hibiscus tea, eat real food, get a little sun, take care of your skin. The whole “Brazilian beauty secret” is really just consistency and paying attention to the basics. Consistency alone accomplishes nothing, you have to be consistently disciplined too. 😇

What Your Lip Product Says About You be honest. what’s in your bag right now?

Your go-to lip product is a personality test and I will die on this hill.

1. clear gloss girl

Eadem Le Chouchou Exfoliating + Softening Peptide Lip Balm

You’re easy to be around and you know it. You’re the friend who shows up ten minutes early and already has a table. People tell you things they shouldn’t on the first hangout. You probably have a solid relationship with your mom. You don’t start drama but you’ll absolutely sit front row when someone else does. The clear gloss is “I’m not trying too hard” energy except you definitely tried — you just want it to look effortless. Honestly? Respect.

2. lip liner and nothing else

Rhode Peptide Lip Shape Contouring Lip Shaper
You’ve been through something and came out meaner in the best way. You have boundaries that would make a therapist proud. Your ex is scared of you and should be. You’ve said “I’m not doing this” to someone’s face and meant it. You season your food well. The lip liner with nothing over it says “I know exactly who I am and I don’t need your input.” People either love you immediately or find you intimidating and both reactions are very correct.

3. tinted lip balm

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm Treatment for Hydration + Nourishing Shine
You’re in your calm era and it looks good on you. You go to bed at a reasonable hour because you actually want to, not because someone told you to. You have one really good candle that you bought with your own money. You’re the friend who remembers birthdays without Snapchat or FB. Tinted lip balm is the “I have my life together but I’m not weird about it” product. Somehow you always smell good too. I don’t know how that’s related but it is.

4. bold red or berry'

INNBEAUTY PROJECT Glaze Lip Oil

You walked into somewhere once and someone’s boyfriend looked up from his phone. You noticed. You kept walking. You have an opinion about wine and it’s probably right. You’ve cried in a bathroom at an event and come back out looking untouched. I genuinely don’t know how you do that. The bold lip is a whole mood and the girls who wear it regularly know something the rest of us are still figuring out.

5. whatever chapstick is in your car

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

Honestly this could go either way. You’re either absolutely thriving and beauty just isn’t where your energy goes, or you’re in survival mode and the chapstick has been in your cupholder since October. The Burt’s Bees doesn’t judge either way. You own one pair of jeans that fits perfectly and you wear them four days a week. You probably drink more water than the rest of us and you probably don’t have a TikTok account. Both of those things are annoying in a way I can get with.

Go check your bag. Whatever’s in there is telling on you…dating edition next?

Have the best weekend girlieeeeeee

the snow is melting (if you live on the STRIP OF LAND that is the east coast)

and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been thinking about the future a lot lately not in a doomsday way, but in a…I was literally born at the exact right time for the way my mind works.

And I think you were too. One of these days I’m going to do an AI for girls class if you’re interested, because never in the history of ever has it been easier to go from a concept in your mind, to voice note, to thing in your hand that you can use or create from. I’ve also been thinking about time in general. And how your late 20s, our late 20s are weird! We never got an early 20s! It was inside. But, like all things, I think that was by design.

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning and all that. If your’e feeling nostalgic about the future you almost lived, or could’ve lived, I want you to remember that your story isn’t just starting, it already started. You’re in it. And it’s quite frankly one of the greatest stories I’ve ever read.

If your immediate response to that line was, what? No it’s not.

Change something.

Quickly.

The very essence of who you are depends on it.

• Regulate Your Nervous System Today Or You’ll Repeat Tomorrow

• What You Missed on From Love Itself TV

it’s not a wellness trend. it’s what He’s been trying to give you this whole time.

You know that girl who just looks like she has it together? Not in a try-hard way. In a “she’s clearly at peace with herself” way. Clear skin, calm energy, moves slow, doesn’t react to everything. She doesn’t have a secret product or a 5am routine. She has a regulated nervous system.

God has literally been prescribing this since Genesis. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” Let’s use context clues because…. … is that not what the girls are on and on about?

you try to pray. try to journal. try to just SIT. and within like 30 seconds your hand is already on your phone. stillness feels wrong. silence feels like a waste of time and space. being alone with your own thoughts is genuinely uncomfortable.

why this happens: your nervous system has been in fight-or-flight so long that calm feels like danger. your brain needs constant input because sitting still means feeling what you’ve been avoiding.

what to do about it: 2 minutes of silence a day. that’s it. no music, no prayer, no guided meditation. just silence. set a timer. let your body learn that nothing bad happens when you stop. “

⭐⭐⭐ But when you’re done, do my 15 minute guided visualization / meditation because it’ll change your life and I can only deliver it if you give me your email so I know where to send it!!

GUIDED VISUALIZATION

8 hours. 10 hours. doesn’t matter. you wake up drained. caffeine is doing the lord’s work by 9am and you crash by 3. and if one more person tells you to “get an oura ring” you might lose it.

why this happens: even when you’re asleep, your nervous system isn’t resting. cortisol stays elevated, your body is still scanning for threats, and you never actually drop into deep recovery sleep. you’re unconscious but your body is still working overtime.

what to do about it: deep breathing before bed. 5 minutes. inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 6. it activates your parasympathetic nervous system which is a fancy way of saying it tells your body “you’re safe, you can actually rest now.” Also, if you don’t, play the Bible or worship music while you sleep. Helps.

you’ve tried the serums. the gut supplements. the dermatologist. it clears up for like a week and then right back. and the breakouts ALWAYS come after stressful seasons or people but you keep treating it like a skincare issue.

why this happens: stress destroys your gut and your hormones, and both show up on your face. when your nervous system is wrecked, your body can’t absorb nutrients properly, inflammation stays high, and cortisol triggers excess oil production. the root is not your skin. it’s your stress.

what to do about it: slow walks. not power walks. not “hitting 10k steps.” slow, intentional, no-earbuds walks outside. David wrote the Psalms tending sheep in fields. Jesus regularly withdrew to quiet places. Walk for the joy of it.

you eat well. you move. you drink water. still bloated. still puffy. still holding weight in places that don’t make sense. you’re starting to feel like your body is working against you.

why this happens: chronic stress tells your body to hold onto everything; fat, water, all of it, because it thinks you’re in danger. it’s a survival mechanism. your body is trying to protect you. it just doesn’t know the threat isn’t real.

what to do about it: gentle movement. stretching, pilates, something that tells your body “i’m with you” not “i’m punishing you.” your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and you don’t renovate a temple with a wrecking ball. move in a way that feels like care. your body will start releasing what it’s been gripping onto. I love ballates (ballet pilates) and barre for this exactly.

you KNOW you should sleep. but you can’t stop scrolling. or you’re online shopping at midnight again. or it’s the food thing. or it’s all three.

why this happens: it’s not a willpower problem. your nervous system is screaming for relief and your brain is grabbing the fastest dopamine it can find. scrolling, sugar, spending; same reward pathway. you might not be as undisciplined as you think.

what to do about it: journal before the scroll window hits. 10 minutes. free write. dump it all, the anxiety, the frustration, the stuff you can’t say out loud. this is literally what David was doing in the Psalms; he was processing his way toward it. clear the mental clutter before your brain goes looking for an escape.

you say “i’m good” and don’t mean it. you smile when you’re falling apart. you’ve gotten so good at looking fine that nobody even checks on you anymore. your whole life feels like a character you’re playing and you are TIRED.

why this happens: authenticity requires vulnerability and vulnerability requires safety. if your body doesn’t feel safe, your brain will choose pretending to be who you used to be over honesty every single time. watch this one because it’s first cousin is people pleasing. It’s biologically a threat to you being your hottest self.

what to do about it: be honest with yourself. if it’s true for you right now, talk to someone you love, do something to feel creative again, the goal is to get energy moving in the direction of your authentic self.

At the end of the day girl,

all that stuff you want, the clear skin, the calm energy, the magnetic presence, the consistency, the glow that doesn’t need a filter or filler, it’s all downstream of a body that finally feels safe.

and God has been saying this the WHOLE time.

“The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds.” Shalom means wholeness. nothing missing, nothing broken. spirit, soul, and body.

He was never about you striving or working your way into being a better person. He was always about transformation from the inside out.

you’re the girl who wants the best of everything. good. so does He. and it starts with a nervous system that’s you let take a freaking breather omg. Just think about Rihanna.

Happy and minding her business.

(hint: your first answer reveals what has your heart)

So you’ve probably seen this by now, creams and serums claiming to put salmon sperm DNA on your face. Sounds ridiculous, but there’s something real underneath the weird marketing.

The ingredient is called polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN), which is essentially fragments of DNA from salmon or trout. Korean clinics have been using it for years, and now it’s showing up in products you can buy at home.

Here’s what it actually does,

PDRN signals your cells to repair themselves. Doctors inject it after procedures because it stimulates fibroblasts (the cells that make collagen) and calms inflammation. In medical settings, it helps wounds heal and tissue regenerate.

The at-home version is a different story though. Dr. Christine Hall says topical PDRN can help with dryness and sensitivity, and dermatologist Dr. Hassan Galadari recommends it for barrier repair. That tracks with what I’ve noticed after using it for about a month - my skin feels calmer, softer, and dare I say plump. It plays well with peptides and ceramides.

But here’s the thing nobody’s really talking about, the size of the molecule matters. PDRN is pretty large, so most of it just sits on top of your skin. All the serious clinical data we have comes from injections, not creams. So no, a jar of this isn’t going to erase your acne scars completely. What it can do is support repair and add hydration, especially when paired with hyaluronic acid or glycerin. Chemical exfoliation will always be the key.

If you want to try it, Anua’s PDRN Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Cream is a good entry point. Dr. Rejuall makes a more luxe version with botanical extracts. One note: it’s fish-derived, so if you’re vegan or have a seafood allergy, look for lab-synthesized alternatives, though the Earth was created for man idk.

PDRN isn’t a miracle. It’s one tool for supporting your skin barrier and managing inflammation. That’s it. Use it if you’re curious, but SPF, chemical exfoliation, and sleep are still doing mosttt of the work.

(this is no way in support of Blake Lively irl, this is simply the best Thanksgiving episode ever produced and tomorrow is the day referenced).

Release ‘em.

You’ve done so much, give yourself 5 days to do less! The world will continue moving without you exerting effort, if you think it’ll be hard to do, just think about how the Jesus gives breath to your body everyday, wakes you up, tucks you in, and does it all over again, without your input.

Take the time to rest because rest makes you hotter, at the end of the day. Happy Thanksgiving, I’m so grateful for you. To the OGs thanks for being here all this time, we are soulmates, and to my new friends welcome to the most loving family you’ve ever been a part of. I’m so glad you’re here.

• Gift Guide for the Pinterest loving Kindle obsessed homebody in your life

So I’ve been thinking about status symbols. Why we want them. What we think they’ll get us. The bag. The car. The title. The house(s). We chase these things because we think they’ll make us feel a certain way. Secure. Chosen. Attractive. Like we’ve arrived. You know what I mean?

But, most status symbols don’t actually get you anything except the symbol itself. You get the bag. You want another soon after. You get the title. It does nothing for you. You get the apartment or house and once the thrill expires, it just becomes the place you live.

So then the question becomes. Is there a status symbol that actually delivers? That gets you the things you were chasing all the other stuff for?

And I think there is. I really do.

It’s a regulated nervous system.

Which basically means. Your body finally feels safe. You’re not in survival mode anymore. Not bracing for the next thing to go wrong. Not running on stress and cortisol and chaos. You’re actually here. Actually present. Actually available for your life. And when that shifts? Everything else follows!

Here’s the thing about attraction. It’s not about who you want. It’s about what you’re broadcasting.

When you’re walking around guarded, protecting yourself with the emotional imprints of everything that happened to you, you attract people who are a match for that. For the wound. For the wall. Not for who you actually are underneath it.

You can’t attract the love you want while you’re still dressed in what hurt you.

Regulate your system, and you stop leading with your wounds. You start showing up as yourself. And the people meant for her? They can finally find you because just as you’ll become visible to you, subconsciously, in the world of the unseen (the Spirit!) you’ll become visible to them.

Call it influence. Call it “it factor.” Call it whatever you want I don’t care.

But when your nervous system is regulated, people are drawn to you. Not because you’re performing or being what they expect, but because you’re present. You’re not scanning the room or rehearsing what to say next. You’re actually there. And that’s rare right now. That’s attractive. People want to be around someone who feels safe to be around.

Because you’ll stop acting from anxiety and start providing value from security.

When you know who you are, and Whose you are, you stop shrinking. You stop undercharging or accepting what you’ve charged in the past. Even if you don’t own a business, you’re still charging, you set your rate when you signed your offer letter.

Anyway you stop over-apologizing for your gifts. You bring something to the table that dysregulated people can’t: peace. Steadiness. Capacity. Awareness of what’s inside of you. And that’s valuable. People pay for that. Opportunities find that.

When you’re not surviving anymore, your heart turns outward.

You stop asking “how do I get?” and start asking “how do I give?” Remember King Solomon? What did he ask for? Wisdom. To do what? SERVE (face). It starts feeling like overflow. You create from love. You connect from love. You move through the world from love.

And honestly? That’s the whole point.

Not because you punish yourself into a routine! But because taking care of yourself becomes something you actually want to do.

When your system is dysregulated, self-care feels like another task. That’s why you always want a break from it (inconsistency much?) Another should. But when you feel safe in your body? You want to nourish it. Move it. Rest it. Adorn it. It stops being discipline and starts being desire. I’m learning this now, and I used to think I was just really into discipline but it was more like a cry for help from the girl who wasn’t ashamed of who she was. More on this in the weeks to come.

Q: Scale of 1 - 10 how regulated is your nervous system?

About This Episode: You’re a 15/10 in one city and a 2/10 in another. Pretty privilege is real but so is pre-rejecting yourself before anyone else can. This is about the shrek effect, studying yourself as data, and why God made you beautiful on purpose.

Four Seasons Robe / 2026 Planner / Aritzia Triangle Scarf / Hair Perfume / Kindle Cover / Sandy Liang Slippers

Even if you’re not her, you know exactly how she’ll respond to last minute (or in advance) plans. Here’s how to lure her out of her curated abode.

Promise her a robe, that’ll change her life, like this Four Seasons one, made of 100% Velour Jacquard Cotton aka, super soft, super luxurious feeling, better than your average cotton or terry robe.

Or, if that doesn’t work, try popping this planner into a gift bag, she’ll instantly feel like filling it with dates of all sorts.

In the same vein, honorable mention for this triangle scarf, maybe she’s cold?

But in the event you can’t draw her out of her cozy setting, get her this hair perfume, a case for that Kindle that’ll make her think of you, or these slippers that may remind her that whether or not she chooses to be a winter social butterfly or not, you love her anyway.

Beauty pillow / Marble lighter / Pajama top + bottom / MANGO bag / Nadri earrings

It’s either she’s your best friend, mentor, mother, sister, or some kind of mix of the four. Here’s what to get her.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this Nurse Jamie pillow, we figure she’d be concerned about her neck’s alignment and we don’t blame her. Apparently facial symmetry has everything to do with how you sleep, and little to do with genetics.

How cute is this marble lighter? You never know when you need to light something on quickly and with style.

If she’s practical, she doesn’t play about sleep either, get her these 100% silk washable pajamas (top and bottom), if she doesn’t own (several) sets already, you’ll be contributing to her efficiency which is basically her love language.

There’s nothing more necessary than a basic blag bag that holds everything, is inconspicuous, and instantly puts anything together. This one from MANGO gives me Zendaya after being freed from the cuffs of her Disney contract, her Spiderman arc, and her happy life in London. Very practical.

And finally, she probably takes great care to not mishandle her diamonds after almost losing them after a Solidcore class (not a great experience), these are so unique and so beautiful, if she happens to lose them she might mourn them more than the real thing.

• Hobbies with Benefits

• Affirmations of the Week

• The Mindset of a Girl Who Never Starts Tomorrow

• How to Make Your Yearly Salary In a Month

Where you invest your time shows in what your life looks like. Hobbiesss are an excellent use of free will, much better than brain rotting or scrolling until Kingdom come. So here are 7 hobbies that will not only make you more interesting, but hotter.

Hobby #1 Beauty Research

You know when you go down those rabbit holes researching skincare ingredients at 2am? Like you’re comparing niacinamide percentages or trying to figure out if you need vitamin C or azelaic acid for your hyperpigmentation? Or what kind of foundation matches your specific skin texture and undertone? Or what looks look good with your facial structure?

Being obsessed with yourself, and learning new things in relation to yourself, releases dopamine. And the more you do this, the more your brain starts linking “learning about myself” with “feeling good.”

So over time, you naturally become someone who invests in herself, not because you’re insecure, but because you genuinely enjoy it. And people can tell the difference. There’s something magnetic about a girl who clearly knows what she’s doing, who can casually explain why something works.

You become the person everyone asks for advice when it comes to looking good and anyone generous is attractive.

Hobby #2 Fermentation, Pickling & Roasting

This might sound weird, but stay with me. When you’re making your own kimchi (or kimchi pancakes) or pickling vegetables or spending an hour roasting things until they’re perfectly caramelized, you’re doing something most people can’t do anymore, you’re waiting.

You’re letting things take the time they need to develop flavor. And every single time you do that instead of rushing, you’re training your brain to be okay with delayed gratification. That’s the same part of your brain that helps you not spiral when he doesn’t text back immediately, or helps you stick with your goals even when you’re not seeing results yet.

People are so attracted to patience because it’s gentle. Who doesn’t love gentility?

When you’re someone who can slow down, who doesn’t need everything right this second, it’s calming to be around you. Plus, cooking is super sensory, you’re smelling, tasting, feeling textures, and all of that wakes up different parts of your brain at once, making you more present and emotionally aware. That presence shows up in how you talk to people, how you handle situations, everything.

Hobby #3 Pilates or Dance

Pilates isn’t just about getting toned (though that’s nice too). When you’re doing Pilates, you’re constantly thinking about where your body is, like, is my core engaged? Is my spine neutral? Am I breathing right? You’re building this internal awareness of your own body in space. Studies show that when you improve your posture (which Pilates does naturally!!), it actually changes your hormones.

Your confidence hormone goes up, your stress hormone goes down. So you’re not just standing up straighter, you’re literally feeling more confident and less anxious from the inside. That’s why you feel better when you stand up taller. You start carrying yourself differently without even thinking about it. You take up space in a room naturally. And people notice that shift immediately, even if they can’t put their finger on what’s different about you. You exude, what you feel or trick yourself into feeling.

Hobby #4 Modeling!

Whether you’re just practicing poses in your mirror or you’re actually booking gigs, modeling trains your brain to be comfortable being looked at. Fun facttttt. I wish I had pictures, but when I was a kid, there was a store called Fashion Bug and every Saturday they had a fashion show for little girls. Like you’d buy the look and get to model it. That’s where my delusion and love for popstar pants began. I was booked! Every Saturday.

Most of us have this instinct where when people stare at us, we get nervous, our brain thinks it’s a threat. But when you practice being seen, being watched, holding poses, making eye contact with a camera, you’re teaching your brain that attention isn’t dangerous.

Over time, you genuinely become comfortable being visible.

You can hold eye contact in conversations. You can walk into a room and not shrink. That ease with being seen is what we call presence, and it’s magnetic. You’re not pretending to be confident, your body actually feels safe being looked at. And when you’re comfortable being seen, people want to see you more! Doesn’t hurt that your facial architecture is mwah Chef’s kiss.

#5 Perfume “Crafting”

I like fragrance a lot because it helps me stay present, and make memories. It’s like having a playlist with you everywhere you go but the playlist is the scent. Scent goes straight to the emotional part of your brain, bypassing all the logical thinking parts. So when you’re intentionally layering your scents like my go to fall combo Elie Saab Girl of Now with Black Opium and Pistachio Crème body milk over Cookie Butter body wash and coco body oil, you’re not just smelling good. You’re creating a memory in people’s brains that’s tied to emotion, not logic.

People might forget what you talked about or what you wore, but they’ll remember how they felt around you, and your scent is part of that feeling. You’re literally designing the vibe you want people to experience when they’re near you. Maybe it’s the artist in you idk. And the fact that you’re thinking about the experience you create for others? That intentionality is attractive on its own. Be intentional with this for a week and see how people respond to you.

Hobby #6 Painting (anything)

When you paint, you’re letting your mind wander in a way that doesn’t happen when you’re scrolling or watching something. You’re accessing the part of your brain that daydreams, that creates, that thinks original thoughts. And people are so drawn to that. There’s something about being around someone who has a rich inner world, who’s clearly creating things from within themselves rather than just consuming what everyone else is consuming, and reading what everyone else is reading.

Plus, the more you create, the more flexible your brain becomes, you get better at trying new things, at being okay with not knowing how something will turn out. That openness to the unknown is attractive because most people are terrified of it.

Hobby #7 Walking

This one seems basic but it’s actually so powerful. When you go for walks, especially aimless ones where you’re not trying to get somewhere, just walking, your brain does has time to processes emotions and creates new brain cells. Like, literally new cells.

I don’t need to tell you why this one is a hobby, a lifestyle, a way of being, because you already know how hot you get when you get your steps in.

TL;DR feeling good = being perceived as attractive.

Being attractive has nothing to do with how you look, and everything to do with how you feel. Feel good, attract good. Look good, attract good looking. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and super subjective. The most beautiful things are beautiful to us because of how they make us feel. Make yourself feel good.

Okay, not completely fake. But whenever I’m traveling for weeks at a time, I don’t bother with them and I’m totally fine. Yet somehow, when winter hits and I’m back in my routine, taking them makes me feel better.

So here’s what I take religiously from November through March:

• Magnesium glycinate + threonate (nature’s adderall)

• Iron/Floradix (low iron girlies stand up)

• Vitamin D3 + K2 (any anxiety be gone fr I be walking around head empty no thoughts)

• Vitamin C (immune system, skin, all of it!)

Do I have scientific proof this cocktail is doing anything? No. Do I feel better? Yes. And sometimes (always) that’s enough.

Move Your Body More Than Necessary

• I wake up and immediatelyyyy do crunches and hip lifts because it centers me. There’s something about connecting with your body first thing in the morning that sets the tone for everything else.

• Then I do my morning alignment work, edit any videos that need editing, head to Pilates, come back and take a midday walk, usually hitting 15-20k steps because I’m a full-time student and honestly, I have nothing but time. I end the day with another round of crunches and hip lifts.

• The secret isn’t necessarily what you do. It’s that you’re moving with intention, multiple times a day, in ways that make you feel good. Your body was designed to move.

Medieval Meals FTW

I call them medieval meals, but really they’re just warm, cozy, foodS.

• Last night I had beef and carrot stew with Tuscan bread and French butter (iykyk), and I genuinely felt like my handmaiden was about to walk in and announce that my bath was drawn, milady.

• Winter is soup season. Stew season. Baked mozzarella tray season. This veggie casserole season. The cozier, the better. Food that requires a bowl and makes you want to curl up under a blanket.

Honorable Mention: Triple Down on Resurfacing Your Skin

Winter is the perfect time to chemically exfoliate your skin as much as you can handle. Schedule every peel appointment possible. Why? Because you’re not in the sun as much, which means less risk of irritation or hyperpigmentation from strong actives.

This is your retinol era. Your AHA/BHA era. Your “I’m going to emerge in spring with glass skin” era.

Be aggressive (but smart) about it now, and thank yourself later. Unless you have sensitive skin in which case…okay. (More on this later on)

Love you, don’t fight the rhythm of a new season xoxo

1. The feminine urge to have dilly dally at every opportunity

Bedtime revenge procrastination is when you delay sleep to dilly dally or have free time to do nothing, even though you know you’ll regret it tomorrow. There’s no real reason keeping you awake, you just choose to stay up because it feels like your only chance to live your life.

The term comes from China, where it described overworked employees staying up late to feel like they had some control. Like saying, “I deserve time for myself, even if I have to take it from my own sleep.”

2. The scarcity paradox

It isn’t about bad habits or poor discipline. It’s about scarcity. All day, you’re on - handling things, showing up for everyone else. By the time night comes, you realize you didn’t get enough time to just be yourself as all girlies deserve.

You didn’t get time for your interests, your thoughts, or just existing without someone needing something from you. So when bedtime shows up, your brain panics. “If I go to sleep now, I’ll wake up and do this all over again without ever getting a moment that felt like mine.”

That’s scarcity thinking. You’re trying to squeeze out every last bit of “me time” because deep down, you don’t believe there’s enough. In that moment, staying up feels like the only way to get what you need.

Here’s the thing: you’re right that you need more time for yourself. You’re just getting it in a way that makes everything worse instead of better. If it feels like you’re reheating your own nachos with that behavior, it’s probably because you are.

3. That probably sounds familiar

Ways you self sabotoge that look like you’re helping yourself but your’e actually hurting yourself:

• People-pleasing to avoid conflict - Saying yes when you mean no, going along with things you don’t want, never stating what you need. You think you’re keeping the peace but you’re really just building resentment.

• Keeping people around who make you feel bad - Not cutting off friendships that drain you because you’re afraid of being alone or burning bridges. You’re protecting relationships that hurt you fo’ what?

• Overthinking every post before you send it - Spending 20 minutes crafting the perfect response or post because you’re trying to control how people see you. You’re exhausting yourself over basic communication that no one will remember a week from now including you.

• Venting to anyone who will listen instead of dealing with the problem - Talking about what’s wrong to everyone except the person who can actually change it. You’re using conversation as a release valve instead of solving anything and dumping energy on the other person.

• Accepting bare minimum treatment because at least it’s something - Staying with someone who’s inconsistent or treats you badly because being alone feels worse. You’re settling for nothing and hoping it turns into something. That’s like staring at the sun and hoping that at high noon it turns into the moon. It can’t. And it won’t. No matter how hard you want it to.

4. Why This Is Self-Sabotage

When you sacrifice sleep, you’re stealing from tomorrow, the energy, focus, and emotional bandwidth you need to build the life you want. When you sacrifice your standards, you’re stealing from the quality of your tomorrow. You wake up exhausted, which makes you less productive, more reactive, and less able to set boundaries or protect your time during the day. This just reinforces the scarcity, which leads you right back to staying up late again.

'It’s a cycle. You stay up because you feel depleted. Staying up leaves you more depleted. You’re borrowing from tomorrow to pay for today, and the debt keeps growing.

5. How to Fix It

Breaking this cycle means shifting from scarcity to having enough.

Put Personal Time in Your Calendar

Stop treating your own time as something that only happens after everything else is done. Block it out. Even 20 minutes during the day—reading, walking, doing nothing—takes the edge off that desperate late-night feeling.

Reframe What Sleep Is

Sleep isn’t the end of your free time. It’s how you make sure you have energy to enjoy your life, it’s part of it. When you’re exhausted, everything is harder and less satisfying. Rest is an investment, not a punishment.

Set a Wind-Down Alarm

Set an alarm for when you need to start getting ready for bed, not just when you need to be asleep. This gives you time to ease into rest instead of fighting it until the last second and rushing in and out of the shower be so fr girl.

Challenge the Scarcity

When you feel that panic of “I didn’t get enough time today,” remind yourself: there will be more time tomorrow. Today being imperfect doesn’t mean you have to steal from your sleep to make up for it.

Make Bedtime Something You Want

If going to bed feels like giving up, you’re going to resist it. Create a routine that feels good visualizing, stretching, reading, a specific tea or skincare routine. Make it something you look forward to.

On a Deeper Level: Build a Life You Don’t Need to Escape From

Bedtime revenge procrastination is a signal. It’s your brain telling you that something needs to change. Not your bedtime, your days.

The fix isn’t forcing yourself to go to bed earlier or having more willpower. It’s creating a life where you don’t have to steal from your sleep to feel like yourself. Where your days have space for what matters to you, not just what needs to get done.

You deserve time that’s yours, time that energizes you instead of draining you. When you give yourself that time during the day, going to bed stops feeling like giving up and starts feeling like getting ready for another day you want to live.

Try This Tonight:

Chill out. Remind yourself that tomorrow is another day, and today was beautiful because you were in it. Start there. You’re not just changing when you sleep, you’re changing how you live.

Disclaimer: This all can be applied to any and every area of your life you stumble upon a belief in scarcity.

1. I am in the middle of my wildest dreams everything is working out swimmingly and I am hot and skinny therefore all is well

2. I am the exception to every rule

3. Everyday I am trusting God more and more so every day I am seeing His hand and His blessings multiplied over my life

1. I swear there’s something about October - December that just makes you want to be the healthiest best most amazing version of yourself and so I’m (unfortunately) trading my fun afternoon drink with fairlife milkshakes

2. Also backkkk on my dessert tea in place of my nightly ice cream I’m giving you the baddie codes rn let’s just ignore the fact that we have no idea what natural flavor means and or contains

3. Non food related though I’ve really been enjoying Twitter more lately - especially hiking shawty’s account

4. Reading the Intellectual Origins of American Slavery and All My Kisses for You

   1. What’s getting me about the first one is that slavery as a concept isn’t new there was slavery in Mesopotamia Babylon etc. it’s a spirit so if humans are present and vulnerable to be influenced by it they will be like all evil and sin; there’s no difference between you being a slave to your old self and a race or socio-economic class enslaving another, the only difference is in degree of severity. Isn’t that interesting?

But in between those visits, I am a press-on girl, I am very particular about the uniformity of my nails. I want them to look the same. I don't want them to chip, and I despise growth. I despiseee new growth.

Why I Switched to Press-Ons

What happens when you go to the salon regularly is you need like two to three weeks between visits, but spending $500 every month on nails is kind of ridiculous to me, especially when the work is subpar. So I started wearing press-ons like two years ago, and I haven't looked back since.

The best part? I'm able to try designs I would never try at the salon. If I hate them, I just take them off. I don't really want to gamble a lot at the nail salon because I just don't like to gamble, so this helps me so much.

The Rankings: From Best to Your Ex (Trash)

#1: Celebtips

This is new and honestly was like a last-minute underdog - didn't know about it, undercover indie brand. I don't know who founded it.

Share

They're SO amazing. Like, they literally are better than anything I've ever gotten done professionally, whether by a nail artist or by just a manicurist. You can get them at Anthropologie - I discovered them at Mecca (TJ Maxx). But I then immediately ordered a bunch because when I like something, I really like it and I want to have a lot of it so that I can always have it.

Purchase

#2: Nail Reformation

Nail Reformation was the first - it really set the bar. It was really that girl. It's like the boyfriend that sets the bar for what you should expect in a relationship.

The nails are beautiful, the length is perfect, they fit my nail beds, they're natural feeling, they're natural looking, they're nice and hard. They're kind of like builder gel - like where Celebtips is kind of like builder gel, this is also like builder gel, but very durable.

I'm someone who likes to bite my nail a little bit or tap things or use my nails as tools (which I know I'm not supposed to do), but I like to do that a lot. The designs are cute, everything is cute.

Purchase

#3: BHeart Box Nails

They're kind of - they feel like plastic a little bit. They really do feel like plastic a little bit, but they're very light. They're the lightest among them all.

Whereas Celebtips and Nail Reformation are a little bit heavy and strong and you can click them, these are very light and you can tell that they're plastic-ish. You can't tell from a distance, but when you put them on, you can tell you're putting on like sort of like a plastic nail.

But I like the length. The length is really important to me because I be typing or sometimes I just want length, but not too much length that's artificial looking and looks like a piece of plastic on top of my nails. I don't like that.

Purchase

Honorable Mention: Olive & June

They can feel a little plastic-y depending on which ones you get. It looks the most like you painted your nails yourself, and they're really accessible, I think they're at Target. The lengths are nice, the colors are okay. But that's like, if those other three aren't available, that's when I'll reach for Olive & June.

In the Bin: Don't. Even. Bother

Glamnetic (Absolutely Not)

In the trash, don't even bother, you're wasting your time. Glamnetic is a sorry joke for press-on nails. They're literally like a caricature of press-on nails. I don't like Glamnetic at all. I think they're super whack.

They're plastic-y, they're fake looking, I just despise them. And do they last long? Sure. But they also look plastic-y and fake and just cheap. I don't like them. Your girl cannot stand a Glamnetic nail.

Chill Tips (We're in 2025, Come On)

Chill tips are all right, but again, considering the year that we're in... I know that they're very cheap nails. I could probably find them on AliExpress or Shein or something. I don't like them. The designs were cool in like the 2010s, but we're in 2025.

The Bottom Line

So yeah, that is my definitive ranking of press-on nails. Let me know which ones you try. Have you tried others that you like? Do you ever get custom nail sets created for you?

The thing about press-ons is they've completely changed my nail game. I get to have perfect, uniform nails without the salon drama, the cost, or dealing with new growth that makes me want to hide my hands. Plus, I can experiment with fun designs risk-free.

Trust me, once you find the right press-on brand for you, you'll wonder why you ever dealt with salon inconsistency.

Here's my thesis, and it might sound controversial: It doesn't matter what you look like. It only matters what you think about what you look like.

The only person's opinion about what you look like that matters is yourself. Here's why this changes everything:

1. how you see yourself controls how you treat people

You will always treat people how you treat yourself.

Your relationship with people is directly affected by your relationship with how you see yourself. When you're constantly rejecting yourself and unhappy with yourself, that energy spills into every interaction you have.

If you're harsh and critical with yourself, guess what? You're bringing that same energy to your relationships. But when you're at peace with yourself, you can love others freely because you're not withholding love from yourself.

2. your self image breaks or builds your whole system

When you are against yourself completely and are constantly rejecting yourself, you're gonna break the whole system.

You're disconnected from love itself, because love only speaks kindness and only sees kindness. If you can't see yourself with kindness, you're cutting yourself off from the very source of love.

3. how you nourish yourself reflects what you create and share with the world

Your habits when it comes to nourishing yourself are directly reflected in how you feel you nourish the world back.

When you eat from a place of self-love and care, you show up differently for others. When you move your body from joy instead of punishment, you bring that positive energy to everything you do. When you treat your body as sacred, you treat others as sacred too.

4. there’s a way you were designed to look

God created each person a certain way, and God put in each person a desire to manifest that certain way - not just in terms of your calling, but in terms of how you look.

Each body has a divine design. It has a way that it looks and a way that it's best expressed. Some people look amazing rounder. Some people look amazing leaner. It's not about the beauty standard.

The beauty standard will confuse your divine design completely. Someone who's meant to look gorgeous and stunning with a few extra pounds on them - if that is their divine design, they're going to be their most beautiful at it.

5. you’re most beatuiful when you fit the God standard, not the beauty standard

You're not your most beautiful because you fit the beauty standard. You're most beautiful because you fit the God standard.

God is a creator. He created beauty to be admired. When you try to fit beauty standards instead of honoring your divine design, you're choosing to express this world's version of beauty instead of expressing the beauty of the actual God who created you.

6. you are the privilege in pretty privledge

You are literally a flower.

Don't give away your privilege - your expression privilege - of expressing the beauty of God for expressing this world's version of beauty. Flowers don't try to look like other flowers. They just bloom as beautifully as they were created to bloom.

7. your happiness is your permission slip

You do what makes you happy. Don't force it on others because they're not you.

If you're happy and healthy eating 1,000 calories a day, all power to you. If you're happy eating 4,000 calories a day and building enough muscle to pull a truck with your hips, all power to you, sister.

The key is YOUR happiness with YOUR divine design.

8. this only works if you’ve done the inner work

This assumes that you went to therapy or you healed. That you're whole, you're happy. That there are no really big soul-level flaws to your thinking towards your self-esteem or self-image.

Because when your thinking is clear and healed, what you think about what you look like comes from a place of divine truth, not wounded lies.

at the end of the dayyyyy

It's not about what people are saying you should look like. It's about how you feel you should look, because the way that you look is divine design. The way that you desire to look is divine design.

Beauty standards are just noise trying to confuse your divine design. But your body has a specific way it's meant to be expressed, and when you honor that - when you're happy with your divine design - that's when everything else falls into place.

Your opinion of yourself is the only one that matters. Make sure it's aligned with how God sees you, not how the world thinks you should be.

Beauty Starts in Your Shopping Cart

Your grocery list is your first act of self-care. Every item you choose becomes a building block of your vitality. This isn't about restriction, it's about being intentional.

The goal is to shop like someone who values how they feel just as much as how they look.

For Gut Health: Build a Balanced Foundation

A healthy gut supports everything from your immune system to your skin. Foods rich in fiber, prebiotics, and probiotics help regulate digestion, reduce bloating, and support mental clarity. Add cucumbers, kimchi, Greek yogurt, garlic, and berries to your rotation to support your microbiome and you'll likely notice the difference in how your clothes fit and how your mind functions.

For Natural Energy: Eat to Sustain, Not Just Survive

Skip the crash-and-burn cycle of sugary snacks (nothin’ wrong with a lil sum sum every now and againnn though don’t get it twisted) and caffeine. When you fill your plate with iron rich spinach, sweet potatoes, quinoa, eggs, and salmon, you're choosing long lasting fuel. These foods stabilize your blood sugar and give your body the steady energy it needs to stay focused and active all day.

For Radiant Skin: Feed Your Glow

Skin health isn’t just topical. Vitamin C from strawberries and citrus helps your body produce collagen, while leafy greens provide antioxidants that fight inflammation. Avocados and walnuts deliver healthy fats that keep your skin soft and hydrated. What you eat literally becomes what you see in the mirror. That’s how God designed it.

The Inside-Out Connection: Why It Matters

Intentional eating is one of the clearest forms of self-respect.

It says, "I care enough about myself to make supportive choices, even when no one’s watching." You’re not chasing perfection, you’re choosing alignment. As you feed your body well, your energy, clarity, and confidence begin to shift in quiet but powerful ways.

Small Changes, Lasting Impact

You don’t need to overhaul your entire diet to feel better. Start small. Add one gut-supporting food this week, or swap in a skin-nourishing fruit for dessert. Tiny upgrades done consistently have compounding effects and they’re far more sustainable than quick fixes.

The Real Glow-Up Is Holistic

Hydration, rest, movement, and nutrition work together to create the kind of radiance that no product can replicate.

You’ll notice you carry yourself differently. You walk into rooms with more ease. You’re not just trying to look good—you feel good, and that changes everything.

So, what one food will you add to your grocery list this week to support your glow from the inside out?
